Terms of Service

By accessing or using Karuppu News ("news.karuppu.in" or the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. These Terms are governed by the laws of India, specifically applicable to Tamil Nadu jurisdiction.

Karuppu News is a public interest news platform focused on anti-corruption reporting, RTI news, court orders, and citizen journalism in Tamil Nadu. The Platform allows registered journalists to publish news articles and allows readers to engage through comments, likes, and bookmarks.

• You must provide accurate and complete information when registering
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
• You must be at least 18 years of age to create a reporter account
• You must not share your account with others or allow others to use your account
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms

Journalists and reporters on the Platform are independent contributors, not employees of Karuppu News.

• All submitted content must be original, factually accurate, and not plagiarised
• You must identify yourself and your source of information when submitting stories
• You must not submit false, misleading, defamatory, or libelous content
• Revenue earned is based on article views and engagement as per our current revenue-sharing policy
• Karuppu News retains editorial discretion over all published content
• Published articles may be edited for clarity, accuracy, and compliance with our editorial standards
• You grant Karuppu News a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish and distribute your submitted content

You must not:

• Post false, misleading, or fabricated news
• Impersonate any person, organisation, or government official
• Post content that is defamatory, obscene, threatening, or in violation of Indian law
• Use the Platform to harass, abuse, or intimidate other users
• Attempt to hack, reverse-engineer, or compromise the Platform's security
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access content without our written permission
• Post spam, advertisements, or promotional material without authorization
• Violate any applicable local, state, or national law

All content published by Karuppu News editorial staff, Platform design, logos, and trademarks are owned by or licensed to Karuppu News. Content submitted by reporters remains the property of the respective reporter but is licensed to Karuppu News for publication.

You may share links to our articles. Reproduction of full article text without written permission is prohibited. For syndication or content licensing, contact editorial@karuppu.in.

Karuppu News provides the Platform on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our maximum liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the past twelve months, if any.

Karuppu News does not endorse, verify, or take responsibility for content submitted by reporters beyond our standard editorial review process. Reporters are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of their submitted content.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Karuppu News, its directors, employees, and contributors from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the Platform.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Tamil Nadu, India.

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email or in-Platform notification.
